A drawing of Pete the Cat, made with the help of an easy step by step tutorial.

Pete the True cat is a fictional cartoon cat, created by American artist James Dean. The series started with 4 books illustrated by Dean and with text past Eric Litwin. Since then, James Dean and his married woman Kimberly Dean have written and illustrated the series of books.

The outset book,Pete the Cat: I Love My White Shoes, is the story of a cat whose white shoes get mucked up past various substances he steps in, but "Pete never loses his cool." Written equally a song, its refrain is "I dear my white shoes", changing to "I love my cherry-red shoes", "I dearest my blueish shoes", and "I honey my brown shoes". So he steps in a saucepan of water and the colors wash off, and they became wet, only yet never loses his cool, he only sings his vocal.

Older students might notice that this tutorial includes a little perspective as Pete'southward shoes that are closer are larger that those on his dorsum anxiety. Younger artists can focus on just making the shoes lucifer. As Pete would say, "It's all practiced."

Materials for Drawing Pete the Cat

  • Eraser. Big ones y'all tin hold in your hand do a much amend job than merely the pencil tips.
  • Black Sharpie Marker. These fine point permanent marking pens brand nice black outlines, take a skilful tip for coloring, and never bleed when they become moisture. Apply them with good ventilation and add extra paper underneath to protect your tables.
  • Prang Crayons. These are a bit softer than other crayons so they sometimes await similar oil pastels. They also accept a some nice brownish shades that Crayola does non have unless you lot buy their larger boxes.
  • Crayola Crayons. The reliable brand that ever works well. The 24 pack has some of my favorite golden orangish and xanthous colors that seem a chip richer and warmer than the ones Prang has.
